Jody taught us all kinds of cool altered books techniques: how to make a "safe" book --the kind with a secret compartment in it; how to dismembering a bound book so that the signatures (groups of pages) can be re-bound or re-used. Then we all went crazy playing with old books. Some people painted pages, cut into them, stapled, sewed and glued elements onto them. Others folded pages to create sculptural objects, embedding photos into hidden crevices. Nobody wanted to stop working, even after 5 hours. We only had one accident--Roberta spilled pva glue all over her sweet Yorkie, Max. But he got washed off and is just fine. What a day!
